Greystone Global LLC

is a select group of experienced professionals who provide organizational and communication consulting to leaders--worldwide --enabling individual, organizational and social change.  We work not from pre-determined step-by-step processes, but from a foundation of organizational theor6y and rapid learning that enables our clients to learn with us and transform knowledge into strategy and sustainability.

Clients often call Greystone when they recognize or believe their organization needs, a substantial change of some kind.  The client may seek change in response to some shift – in strategy or vision, in markets or sales, in legislation or leadership.  Greystone’s recommendations for accomplishing change may include developing or repositioning leaders, products and strategies; creating a new organizational structure, business model or succession plan; or expanding an organization’s reach through new alliances, services and funding sources.  For Greystone, helping clients learn their way to solutions typically involves assessing the organization and its environment; focusing on problem-solving and outcomes; devising strategic plans grounded in knowledge; and communicating creatively and credibly.

We are a female-owned firm of “specialized generalists,” individuals with expertise in specific disciplines while adept at working across the breadth of organizations.  To meet each client’s unique needs, our veteran consultants draw partners as needed from a pool of extraordinary, part-time Greystone associates.  Our offices are in Chicago, Grand Rapids, Michigan and Washington, DC – but we are known, and we work, around the world.

Clients come to us because we’ve been recommended by someone they respect.  We have no marketing budget or sales personnel; we work strictly by referral from satisfied clients.

Greystone is known for discretion and confidentiality.  Our colleagues have worked with thousands of organizations around the globe in distinguished careers elsewhere and since they joined Greystone.  As part of Greystone they have created learning programs, solved intractable problems, led mergers and settled corporate struggles, counseled boards and executives through institutional change, and authored and published speeches, articles and full-length books – some over our own names, some as “ghosts.”  But we’ve never advertised our client list or in any way violated our clients’ trust.

When Greystone is hired, it is almost never through a “bidding process.”  We are, from the beginning, our clients’ partners.  We are hired, not purchased.

Greystone is extraordinarily good at learning.  Every colleague is an astute listener.  We’ve shared research and interview strategies developed over the past quarter century that enables us to get to know our clients uncommonly well and very, very quickly.

The range of our work is, for a small group, surprising.  The week this copy was being written Greystone’s consultants were at work with clients based in Africa, Japan, Europe, Canada and the United States.

  • One was creating a new curriculum model for two universities and a graduate school.

  • Two were preparing client reports, one for a national trade association and the other for a privately held corporation.

  • One was showing corporate leaders how to use design-based concepts to improve institutional decision making.

  • One was changing federal funding priorities through strategic media and legislative appeals, without engaging in lobbying.

  • One was helping leaders in the Republic of Zambia respond effectively to the AIDS crisis that has already claimed a third of the nation’s population.

  • Two were creating programs that bridge cultural gaps between clients and client markets.

  • Two were guiding a corporation through a challenging leadership succession.

  • One was finishing critical research that will inform a client’s very confidential new business strategy.

  • Two were “on call” for a crisis communication team serving a household-name institution.

  • One was helping nurture – “incubate” – two new clients, both of whom hope to become enduring, national institutions.

We are a female-owned firm, a for-profit organization staffed by a half-dozen fulltime colleagues and aligned with dozens of highly specialized, part-time associates.

We are Greystone Global LLC: A small group of professionals serving clients worldwide.
